Fire Cider is an herbal tonic designed to boost and support the immune system. It is used traditionally to stave off colds, the flu and seasonal imbalances. It is also known for assisting with digestive health and has been reported to be anti-inflammatory.
The name Fire Cider is generally attributed to Rosemary Gladstar who is often recognized as the “godmother of modern herbalism” in North America. Rosemary coined the phrase in 1979 when she created her first batch during a winter wellness class at the California School of Herbal Studies where she was teaching. Her recipe was adapted from several old folk recipes which she added additional herbs and honey.
